Goodbye
This is my last day living in France and I have to say, rain and all, I had a great time. I learnt french, met a lot of different people, and saw some pretty amazing sights. My parting gift along with a can of duck gizzard: a rain storm with 40km/h winds. Woohoo! Just hoping tomorrow isn't the same for the plane ride...
Concarneau, Bretagne
This last weekend I went on my last sightseeing trip in France. We went to the city of Concarneau right by the ocean and ate a delicious meal of seafood! The weather wasn't terrible but as usual it rained.

Last week I was in Auvergne visiting Marie's grandparents. I climbed a volcano, went to a paper museum, rode in a horse racing cart, and went to a rugby match.

Paimpol and L'Ile de Brehat
After getting home from Paris I went with my french family and their neighbours to their home in Paimpol. We then took a boat to the Island of Brehat. I met some ladies on the boat who were dressed in the traditional clothing of the region of Britanny and who were very excited to meet a Canadian! :)
Paris!!
This week I went to Paris with my class at school. We went to a play, le Centre Pompidou, La Grande Mosquée de Paris, L'Institut du Monde Arabe, le Jardin des Plantes, and Le Grande Galerie de l'Evolution. We saw some pretty neat things, met some sweet people and for once the weather was nice and sunny!

Normandy
This weekend I got to visit Normandy. We went to a museum about WWII in the city of Caen and we visited Juno beach. I also stepped foot on canadian soil this weekend! How? Well I visited the canadian cemetery which I have been told is actually canadian territory so there you go. It was beautiful in a solemn way. I also went to the quaint little town of Honfleur by the sea and had the most delicious caramel dessert! :)
I wrote this on Juno beach. Can you spot the gnome?

Galette
Today Jacques (Marie's Dad) made a delicious pie type dessert called a "galette". They are not only yummy but hidden inside the galette is a little figurine. Whoever finds it in their piece is "Le roi" (king). The treasure hidden in this particular galette was a character from Harry Potter :p

Sunny day in Le Rheu
Today it was 16 degrees with no wind and a clear sky. A big change from the cold snowy weather we had before! Since I only had school until 1130 today Marie and I went for a walk in the afternoon to visit the neighbours' cows. They weren't fully grown yet so they were pretty cute- mooo :p
Here's a pic of Marie's house.

Joyeux Anniversaire!
Happy Birthday Baptiste! Baptiste (Marie's little brother) turns nine today so we had a little celebration for him. We ate pineapple cake and some macarons that Thomas and I made. :) We then opened gifts- a new leather jacket for Baptiste!
